The best way to get acquainted with the city is to wonder around its streets.

We propose a walk in the City’s Downtown (Route 1 – The Other Side of the City Centre) or in the Historic Quarters (Route 2 – The Old Town).

No less interesting are the routes in the villages of Estoi (Route 3 – The Village of Estoi ) and Santa Barbara de Nexe (Route 4 – Santa Bárbara de Nexe and the Views).

In Faro’s Waterfront Route you get to know some birdwatching locations and discover the Ria Formosa Nature Park scenery.

The Ria’s special features allow practising a wide range of activities such as Kytesurf, cannoning, row, boat trips or birdwatching all promoted by several existent  ecotourism companies.Ecotourism companies also develop activities in the town and inland. You can also choose from a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city or, instead, take a tourist train ride.
